Flower & Field - Thank You

Image
I love turning this  into the card above! With this card the colors pop with the black card base and was a favorite in my card classes.  Super easy too.   Black cardstock - 4 1/4" x 11", score at 5 1/2" Pool Party cardstock - 4" x 5 1/4" (you need two pieces) Black matting - 3 1/4" x 4" Basic White cardstock- 2 3/4" x 1 3/8" Flower & Field DSP (Sale-a-Bration item Jan/Feb 2021) - 3" x 3 7/8" then cut into 1" strips (3) 16" of Pool Party ribbon  Fold card in half and burnish fold using bone folder.  Take one piece of the Pool Party cardstock and run through the Stampin' Cut and Embossing Machine with the Tasteful Textures Embossing folder. This is called dry embossing.  Do not adhere to the black cardstock just yet.  Adhere the 3 pieces of 1" strips of DSP - be careful of direction and make sure the pattern lines up.  I usually adhere the two outside pieces first and add the middle piece last so that it is ce...

Sailing Home

Image
I was asked to design a Thank You card representing the town I live in for a realtor customer of mine.  We live on the bay side of the gulf where there are a lot of sail boats.  She also wanted to include the high school colors which were maroon and black.  I will say she was very happy with these. To start, I used Merry Merlot card stock cut 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4".  The mat, in black, is 5 1/4" x 4".  I adhered the black to the base card with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.   Next, I took a piece of Basic White card stock 3 3/4" x 5" to use as my palate.  You cannot really tell in this picture, but I put the white card stock and used the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder.  I did not run it through the Stampin' Cut and Embossing Machine because it would have created a deep pattern and I wanted a subtle one.  Additionally, I did not want the whole piece embossed but a portion of it and the indentation would have been t...

Ice Cream Corner Suite - Shaker Card

Image
I created a shaker card the easy way using many of the items in the Ice Cream Corner Suite from the January - June 2021 Mini Catalog.     This card I used Terracotta Tile color (In Color 2019 - 2021) but I will show you also in Bermuda Bay.   First you will need Whisper White (or Basic White - newer white with SU, Annual Catalog) for the base, 5 1/2 " x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4".  Fold and burnish with your bone folder.   Cut a piece of Terracotta Tile cardstock 5 1/4" x 4" for the window.  Using the Stitched Rectangles (Annual Catalog), the one that is approximately 2 1/2" x 4",  I centered on the cardstock and ran it through the Stampin' Cut and Embossing Machine.  Keep that piece to use for something else or decorate inside the card.  You now have a frame.  With the "spots" stamp from Sweet Ice Cream stamp set, using Terracotta Tile Classic Stampin' Pad, I dotted around the frame to add a little dimension.  I used both direct stam...
