Butterfly Bouquet

Started playing with the SU new early release Butterfly Brilliance Collection on March 2, 2021. I did a FB live and wanted to start out simple and work my way up. This collection has a lot of parts but fun to create. Great for the Avid crafter.

Mint Macaroon cardstock   5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"
Basic Black cardstock  5 1/4" x 4"
Butterfly Bijou DSP  3 3/4" x 5" and full sheet 6" x 6" of butterfly pattern matching large die
Basic White cardstock 5 1/4" x 4" ( for inside)
Scraps of Basic Black and Basic White
Vellum cardstock 6" x  6"

Take your Mint Macaroon cardstock, fold on score line and burnish with a bone folder. Adhere the black cardstock to the Mint using Stampin' Seal or Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Do the same with your Butterfly Bijou Designer Series Paper (DSP).

Next, take the 6" x 6" butterfly paper and align it with the Multi Butterfly Die from the coordinating die set.

I used a small piece of washy tape to secure it down. Run this through the Stampin' Cut and Embossing Machine. Do not discard. Now you have a bunch of butterflies to work with. I chose the green one for this card. With paper snips, I cut near the butterfly antenna on both sides so I could bend the wings. The remaining DSP piece, I cut the sides with the Paper Trimmer to give me even strips, one which I will use for the inside.

Using the same large multi butterfly die, I placed it on the vellum paper and ran it through the machine. This gave me the same shapes now in vellum. I found the matching vellum piece to the butterfly I chose. Put the other pieces aside for another project.

Then I placed glue dots on the center of my butterfly and attached to the vellum butterfly. I bent the wings up. I adhered the whole butterfly onto my card with glue dots. I added some Wink of Stella to the wings (because everything should have a little sparkle).

For my sentiment, I punched out, using the Postage Punch, both a black and white piece. I took a Blending Brush and added some Mint Macaroon to the white piece. I stamped the sentiment from the In Bloom stamp set (Jan-Jun 2021 Mini Catalog) with black ink. I adhered the white piece to the black with Liquid Glue and then used Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere to the card.

I finished off the card by placing some of the greenish rhinestones from the Holiday Rhinestones in the Annual Catalog.

For the inside, I placed that piece of DSP that I mentioned earlier on white cardstock. From the In Bloom stamp set, I put this birthday greeting.

You see how the die matches perfectly with the stamp and cuts out six different sized butterflies. I stamped this large stamp, using the Stamparatus, with black ink. It also fits on the largest clear block (F). I then ran it through the die cutting machine. I used the Mint Macaroon Blends to color and glued in place. . You can use any color blends for your card designs.

Don't forget to give your envelope some love 🦋.
