Butterfly Brilliance - Birthday

Starting March 2nd through May 3rd 2021,  the Butterfly Brilliance Collection will be available.  It is a fabulous collection of stamps, dies and paper.

I was inspired by Su Mohr and her layout.  To make this card I used the following collection

Cutting:
Bermuda Bay cardstock 4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2"
Natural Touch Specialty DSP 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Butterfly Bijou DSP  2" x 4 1/4". I used the page with Bermuda Bay color and yellowish butterflies.

Directions:
Fold the Bermuda Bay cardstock at the score line and burnish with a bone folder.  Set aside.

Take the Natural Touch DSP and run it through the Subtle 3D embossing folder through the Stampin' Cut and Embossing Machine, using the embossing pieces.  I did this to add a little more texture to the paper.

Adhere the Butterfly DSP to the textured natural paper across the center.  I used the Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Then I took the largest rectangle from the Stitched Rectangle Dies and ran it through the same cutting machine, using the die cutting pieces.  This created a nice stitch edge to both papers.  I had no problems even with the double layer.

Next, I took the fourth largest stitched rectangle and centered it on the large stitched piece.  I ran this through the same cutting machine.  This gives you two pieces.  Adhere the large stitched frame piece to the cardstock.

I took a foam adhesive sheet and cut small strips using the Paper Trimmer.  You can also use Foam Adhesive Strips but they are a little thicker. I lined the edges of the smaller stitched piece (on the back side) with the strips. Attach the smaller piece back to the center on the cardstock and it will be raised.

I took the Butterfly Bijou DSP (these are 6" x 6" pieces) and the pattern of the large butterflies matches the one large die from the Brilliant Wings Die Set.  Match the die to the paper and run through the cutting machine.  It cut out six butterflies in various colors.  I didn't choose the Bermuda Bay butterfly because it seemed too big.   The smaller yellow fit better.  Another option is to stamp the butterflies (it is one large rubber stamp), cut out using the die and then color using blender pens.

For this card, I used the Stitched So Sweetly dies for my sentiment.  I use one of the smaller dies and ran a scrap of Basic White cardstock through the cutting machine.  I found a small Happy Birthday in the Punch Party stamp set (a hostess only Sale-a-Bration item) but any sentiment will work.  Try something like Itty Bitty Greetings. I stamped the sentiment in Bermuda Bay ink.

Next I attached some Burlap Ribbon (retired) that I had, with glue dots, but any coordinating ribbon will do.  I used the burlap to go with the natural tones of the specialty DSP.  I used Mini Stampin' Dimensionals on the sentiment and adhered to the card over the ribbon.  I used glue dots on the center of the butterfly and attached to the card,  I bent the wings up a little.

Finish:
I always like a little bling so I put some Holiday Rhinestones (I usually put about 3).  Finally, I had to add a little Wink of Stella to give some sparkle to the butterfly.

Don't forget to finish off your card with something inside and always give your envelope some love ❤️.
